Daniel Bryan Thread

PHOENIX - A former WWE champion is credited with stopping a burglar in Phoenix.

The incident happened on Monday night in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police, Bryan Danielson, better known as Daniel Bryan, was pulling into his carport with his wife when he saw the door that leads to his house start to open.

Two men ran out of the house and fled on foot. Danielson was able to catch one of the men, 22-year-old Cesar Sosa.

Sosa and Danielson got into a struggle but Danielson was able to detain him until officials arrived, police said.

The second suspect was not located.

Sosa was booked into Maricopa County Jail and charged with burglary.

Danielson, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, will talk with the media this afternoon, look for an update on ABC15 news at 4 p.m.

I hope Bryan slapped on Cattle Mutilation until the cops showed up. And I really hope some neighbor took video of the whole thing.

Good for him. Sucks he got robbed. I hope they didn't take anything irreplaceable, but I am glad he got one of them.

Daniel Bryan is a bona fide bad ass ... chasing down a burglar on foot, then locking him in a submission hold until cops arrived.

Daniel and his wife Brie Bella had just come home Thursday night when they saw 2 men on their way out of their house. The burglars dropped the stuff they were stealing and hightailed it down the street.

D.B. gave chase ... the bad guys had a big head start but the champ caught up with one of them and locked him in a rear naked choke for 5 minutes until cops arrived.

Daniel's feat is all the more impressive because the guy he caught is facing kidnapping charges in another case.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch ... Daniel's wife Brie retrieved the loot the guys were in the process of stealing, including a bracelet that belonged to the wrestler's recently deceased dad.

The second guy is still on the loose, but there's one less bad guy on the streets, thanks to D.B.

I really hope Bryan doesn't get sued over this, I know he alluded to it and I'm sure he did everything possible not to really hurt the guy, but I'm sure once some crooked lawyers and doctors see a celebrity involved in something like this they'll try and con him out of some money. I don't know the law well enough to know what's what but every once in a while you do hear of criminals suing the people they were trying to rob for injuries

he probably applied it in a way where it would not hurt the guy (Becuase Wrestling) but so he could not get out.

--Regarding the stories going around that Bryan Danielson will be undergoing Tommy John surgery (which would keep him out of action for close to one year), those in WWE say he is still being evaluated as to what treatment he needs.

This sucks. If anyone can return from it, it is Dragon..... but this sucks.

I just want to know what his innings limit will be when he returns. And will they shut him down the following year, even his team makes it to WrestleMania?

WWE is currently advertising both Daniel Bryan and Bad News Barrett for its European house show tour which starts on 11/5. Barrett is listed for the 11/5 show in London as his first match back on the Cena tour. Bryan is listed, along with Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, as the key stars for the other tour that starts 11/6 in Cardiff, Wales.

When Daniel Bryan was in town over the weekend, he spoke about his injury and there was really nothing new to report. He may undergo a second surgery, but he may not. There is no timetable for a return as they are hoping his strength returns to his right arm without surgery. He is hopeful of being able to return by January to have a program for WrestleMania, but that is just a hope. It all depends on his body, and nobody knows the answer as to when he'll regain his strength.

Why can't he just get the damn surgery already and be back, gahhhh

If he retires.... I will probably cry and my poor wife will have to see that.... this could get ugly.

It sucks for fans if he retires, but I'd rather have him not wrestle than end up dead or in a wheelchair. Nothing is worth that.

Fingers crossed that he's entering the rumble.

even if he never wrestles again, he is very good as a personality.

also, hopefully he can make occasional match, like stone cold has with his neck.
