I'm pretty sure this tour was 1 week at one promotion running every night.

I'm happy for steen from a personal standpoint, has a wife and family who have been nothing but supportive, so them having more security would be a huge help. Also seemed like a nice enough guy when he was in Easton.
Willie Mack shouldn't be able to do half the things he does, so him vs Luke Harper would be a barn burner if it happened.
Good luck to them both

I usually go out of my way to NOT meet wrestlers, but at the wrestlecon show this year in N.O. I caught Steen for a second when no one was buying shirts so I went back over to thank him for his work and let him know that he is one of the few wrestlers I can put on have my wife enjoy wrestling. He was SUPER nice and appreciative. We didn't chat or anything, but he was was being really awesome to everyone. I wish I had remembered to tell him that Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero are the other two my wife likes ok, haha.

I know I am going to regret this, but if the WWE offered you financial stability and the chance to secure a comfortable future for your family, would you not take it? Real talk?

All of my other issue with the E aside, If i had to be on the road 200 days a year, Instead of missing just weekends with my family, NO. I will leave it that simple. If i was in Steens position right now with a baby, I would pass just on that reason alone.

Who has a better quality of life.. The welfare children who's father never leaves the house or the suburban kid whose father leaves often for business trips that allows the child many luxuries, financial stability and a college education?
If spending a few years on the road to collect money and build my name value so I could quit later for a better schedule or be able to charge more for independent bookings, I'd do it. It's a sacrifice for the greater good.
Ofcourse, Before you ever step into the ring this should be a sacrifice you are willing to make... Otherwise, stay on the other side of the guard rail and buy a ticket. It's not a hobby.
As far as Kevin Steen having to decide whether or not he would take the job because he has a kid, the fact that he has a kid should be a zero second thought process and immediate yes. But I know that's not a problem for him as he went to WWE for a job and not vice versa.

Re: WWE signings and releases
I get the family thing. I guess the question might have been somewhat unfair though. I think Indy is right in pointing out that it isn't a hobby. Guys who make it to Steen's level sacrifice a lot, good or bad. They have made their choice and - for them - it is the right one. For others, maybe not.
Regardless. I am really happy for Steen and wish him the best in the E. I hope he blows everyone away.

Re: WWE signings and releases
I too usually end up with bad tastes in my mouth from meeting wrestlers who are my favorite, but Steen was a class act! I took a kid who i take care of to a an ROH show (kid is in a wheelchair) and it was during SCUM (my other two favorites are Jacobs and Corino) and Steen was signing autographs.
I asked if we could get Jimmy and Steve to sign the Scum poster we made and he got up (nobody else in line, this was an ROH deadzone of western NC) and took us backstage to meet them! I used a wheelchair kid to meet heroes! I cant wait to see him rock the fat guy initiative!

Re: WWE signings and releases
just for what it's worth Steen posted his final weekend escapade show tonight, I'm sure it had way more to do with his life being crazy busy because of his kids, but thought it was interesting timing

It hasn't been announced yet by the promotion but since your are all way over there on the other coast im not worried about it but Steen is booked for Fighting Spirit pro in July. He has said it is a part of his last couple weeks touring in ca.

Re: WWE signings and releases
No more McIntyre, no more Bourne...
Fuck you WWE
Bourne has been on my fave five since 2008 and I have hoped for 18 months that "maybe Bourne will finally return, maybe there will be a Air Boom reunion, dirtsheets are predicting a Kidd/Bourne tag team, they're never wrong, right. Right?"
*sigh* I feel bad for these guys. I can only hope Bourne goes to PWG or something.
and JTG is till employed for fucks sake

Re: WWE signings and releases
Drew hurts.. I always liked Drew even when everyone hated him here... Hope he get picks up by New Japan, or at the very least becomes the first Global Pro Champion when it starts up then returns to WWE in 2-3 years.
Curt Hawkins - Hope to see him in ROH, PWG, maybe GFW
Camacho - Hope to see him as Tama's new partner in Bullet Club
Yoshi Tatsu - Back to New Japan
Evan Bourne - forms a always Too High trios team with London&Kendrick
Jinder Mahal - GFW
Brodus Clay - GFW

None of this is TOO shocking. McIntyre, Clay, and Cumacho are kind of a shame. I have never really been a huge fan of Bourne. I didn't even really like him in ROH that much. I get why people do, but at least maybe now you will get to see him work.

Re: WWE signings and releases
Guess they had to shit can a bunch of people to make room in the catering budget for Steen and Willie Mack.
No real surprises on this list in terms of usefulness, just surprising to see them cutting so many people in one day after all this time of just letting them languish on the payroll.
Now is your chance Evan, head back to the indies and bring Racist Matt Sydal to life!
Also, mother fucking JTG is still employed!
