Way to ruin something amazing.
I have a pretty morbid sense of humor, but that's just a topic you don't make jokes about.

Oh come on, far more tasteless Chris Benoit jokes have been uttered here, and the intent isn't to make light of a serious situation but to draw attention to the riskiness of a spot like that.
As cool as a spot like that is for the audience, it's a spot the human body just isn't built for. I don't think it's particularly smart for someone to pull a spot like that (and looking on youtube, it's not the first time), but he's an adult. That's not something you see every day and certainly not something you're going to see in WWE, so it does entertain me. Just as long as no one's holding a gun to anyone's head, I don't really have a problem with it as ill-advised as it is.

Re: Lucha Underground season 1
And those Benoit jokes are tasteless too. As are jokes about Rey Mysterio and El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo (something I unfortunately heard a lot of from a friend of my brother's recently).
Having been to the Lucha Underground Temple for a few tapings, I can say that their ring is MUCH more safer than your average pro wrestling ring. There's no barrier ringside, so we get to walk around and feel the ring regularly.
The apron is padded with material that provides very safe cushioning anytime someone lands on it. The mats at ringside are basically crash pads that are much safer than your typical thin wrestling mat.
Obviously, it's not good for wrestlers to do stuff like that all the time, but in this particular case, it's something that Angelico was more than capable of doing in a safe manner since he had done a similar act before and they have precautions in place.

For what it's worth. Reyes' bump was "less safe" than Angelico's.

Reyes actually suffered a separated shoulder from that spot.

Re: Lucha Underground season 1
According to LU's "unofficial" blog Underground Luchador on Twitter (very common for companies to have viral accounts on social media), that isn't quite official confirmation that Season 2 has been greenlit.
However, the fact Univision would bother to put that on their corporate website with specific dates listed is VERY promising.
It's even better news after they came off an especially strong episode last night (Mundo vs. Aerostar, Puma vs. Hernandez for the LU Title, Fenix vs. Mil Muertes in a Death Match).

I hope Fenix is ready to go by that time after he lost the DEATH MATCH this week.

I mean, I've seen this match. I'd be more interested if they booked something crazy, like Pentagon Jr vs. Josh Alexander or something.

I feel like that won't be the match they're booking, it's just an announcement that they both will be on the show, which I believe they are the first two announced.

Re: Lucha Underground season 1
Konnan confirmed on MLW this week that Season 2 IS happening.
Also, LU showrunner Eric Van Wagenen (who also worked on Legends House & Tough Enough season 5 with Austin) had a great LU-related podcast on The Steve Austin Show - Unleashed! from Thursday, where he spoke about a lot of the initial troubles when starting the project that is now LU, some of what goes on behind the scenes, and contemplating their future plans.

Is August 5th still two hours or is ultima lucha two hours total split up into two one hour shows?

That is correct!
I attended the taping that had the two-hour episode, so tomorrow's show is all news to me.

Re: Lucha Underground season 1
Nope. I saw Chris DeJoseph asking fans on Twitter if they were interested in a "unique opportunity," but I couldn't make it that day.
I did get to see Vampiro vs. Pentagon though. That match is insane. I'll be surprised if it doesn't end up getting severely edited because of how brutal it was.
Also, they taped a battle royal on day two, but I doubt it will air on TV (as they used several wrestlers who haven't wrestled on TV yet and one who recently met his untimely demise). They filmed it and had commentary on it though, so it could be an online exclusive or added to a potential DVD release.

Re: Lucha Underground season 1
So, Ultima Lucha part 1 was pretty damn awesome.
Mack/Cage was a good, hot opener with a few awesome spots. Glad Willie has some good exposure from LU since he hasn't been booked in PWG in ages.
Trios was pretty dope. Angelico is still insane. Bummer that Ivelisse's ankle was hurt for half of the season. The match got cut down in some places, enough to be noticable. Thankfully Reseda doesn't have any high places to jump from for Angelico.
And then we got Hernandez getting whipped. It was good. Really looking forward to part 2.
I've missed like last eight episodes, any must-see matches besides Mundo/Puma All Night Long?
