Rumored WWE Cruserweight Show - ACTUALLY HAPPENING

With qualifiers happening in the UK and in EVOLVE, it would be cool to see if WWE could work with some Japanese and Mexican promotions to have some qualifiers in those promotions.

It's almost a given they wouldn't do anything with New Japan or AAA, but there are still some other promotions that they could possibly work with on this.

Lince Dorado is claiming to be in the tournament.. Ibushi being shown at Takeover, just about locks him up for it.. Ricochet's gf just worked the NXT taping, there are rumors, he has a out cause after LU Season 3 is finished filming and if he drops the Junior tags title next week.. Might be a good sign he is in.

Lince Dorodo is a name I have not heard in a LONG time. Wasn't he in FIP recently or whatnot? I knew Ibushi was going to be in this when he went freelance. Also Ricochet def trying to get into this, LU season 3 might be the last.

Lince last wrestled almost a year ago for FIP, He been wrestling in IBelieve and probably other small Florida groups the last while.

Lince is still active down here. He seems to have heat with a lot of people #localIndieDrama

Lince still ends up on Evovle pre shows when they team up with other companies in FL.

Meltzer said promoters are being told Ricochet is not taking bookings after June.

Glad to see Ricochet potentially heading to WWE. He can't really grow much more by hanging around in Lucha Underground long-term, so it would be great to see him in WWE.

I just hope that he's able to go in time for this Cruiserweight series, and they don't try to hold him from leaving until AFTER Season 3 has aired (which won't even begin airing until early 2017), like they did with Hernandez for Season 1.

It's highly unfortunate that they prevented King Cuerno (El Hijo del Fantasma) from participating in this. He would've been an excellent fit for this, and WWE in general, especially with what WWE is looking for in Mexican stars.

Now BOSJ ends in early June, so in theory he could do both unless he's scheduled to win BOSJ because he'd have to work Dominion on 6/19 and I think this starts 6/20

My guess is he's just working people but who knows, glad he's in BOSJ though

Even if he doesn't show up for GCS, I think Ricochet is in NXT by this time next year.

The worldwide race to earn a spot in the WWE Global Cruiserweight Series is heating up, as U.K. independent promotion PROGRESS Wrestling has announced the participants in the qualifying matches they’re playing host to ahead of this summer’s tournament.

On Sunday, April 24 in Camden Town, London, PROGRESS will present two matches with the incredible opportunity to compete in the GCS on the line. In the first qualifier, international star and technical wizard Zack Sabre Jr. will begin his journey in the GCS when he takes on up-and-coming highflier Flash Morgan Webster, who will surely be out to play spoiler and catapult himself into the spotlight. The second bout sees world-traveled grappler Jack Gallagher square off against the hard-hitting “Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne.

As the July 13 premiere of WWE’s Global Cruiserweight Series on WWE Network draws near, the world’s best competitors are going above and beyond to stand out in hopes of receiving an invite to this summer’s historic tournament.

On Saturday, May 7, in Queens, N.Y., EVOLVE Wrestling plays host to two qualifying matches, giving four competitors the opportunity of a lifetime. Two of EVOLVE’s most prominent mat technicians, reigning EVOLVE Tag Team Champions Drew Gulak and Tracy Williams, will square off against each other in the first qualifier. The second match is a battle to determine whether a rookie’s pure determination can overcome experience, as up-and-comer Fred Yehi battles 15-year veteran TJ Perkins.

The winners of these matches will earn a spot in the Global Cruiserweight Series along with the following competitors:

Pete Dunne is pretty solid from what I've seen, hoping for him, TJP and Williams

It's a shame that Lince is in, but either Gulak or Williams won't be in.

There could always be a 2nd chance qualifying type match that get them in.. Also something to remember, Mike Quackenbush was a guest trainer at Performance Center a few months ago so I think there a decent chance we might see a few Chikara talents/characters involved.

I honestly don't see any CHIKARA guys (Besides Gulak who was already booked) that would be ready for this at all. Maybe Fire Ant would be the exception, and we already know WWE doesn't care about Bugg Nevans (the former Rick Beanbag).

So one weird thing to keep an eye on, Adam Cole is seemingly not booked for any upcoming ROH dates including Global Wars and the WOTW tour

Previously confirmed participant Noam Dar of Scotland enters the GCS in the qualifying round. The Israeli-Scottish competitor has made a name for himself as one of the most adaptable wrestlers in the world. Among the U.K.’s premier technical wrestlers, the 22-year-old Dar has shown he can hang with the world’s best in the squared circle, having taken on the likes of AJ Styles, former NXT Champion Finn Bálor, and Austin Aries.

Dar’s opponent in the qualifying match is Josh Bodom. Regarded as one of the hottest prospects in British wrestling, Bodom has made a name for himself against Superstars like Bálor and another GCS competitor, Tommaso Ciampa. He’ll certainly look to ruin Dar’s summer and put himself on the biggest stage possible by earning a spot in the Global Cruiserweight Series.

The all-important qualifying match takes place at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Live at The Cockpit 8 event on Sunday, May 1, at 5:30 p.m. GMT at The Cockpit in London.

So it seems like the names that Triple H confirmed were in the tournament may all likely compete in qualifiers anyway, as evident by Sabre and Dar.

Zack Sabre Jr. and Jack Gallagher just won their qualifying matches.
