So they run an angle at the PPV that sets up both Cabana and Cole as logical challengers, and Kyle beats Lethal in Dearborn and can also lay claim to the #1 contendership and who gets the shot? Jay fucking Briscoe

Re: ROH Thread
From the latest Observer....
It was New Japan’s decision have Adam Cole and Adam Page join The Bullet Club on shows they were involved with, and both will be working Japan as part of the club, both starting this summer.
The other members of The Bullet Club were the ones who made the suggestion for Cole. Primarily The Young Bucks asked and pushed for it. Matt Jackson was one of the key people as far as the design and layout of the angle at the end of the PPV. Cole makes sense since Bullet Club lost key people and with Kenny Omega moving to heavyweight, there was a spot open for a singles junior heavyweight. Page was a surprise. ROH has tried to elevate him from being a nobody, but it’s not like he caught on in a big way with the fan base. It was almost like one of those NWO additions that felt like it weakened the concept. But ultimately, Page was a New Japan call and had already been booked as part of the group on an upcoming tour, and it was Gedo who wanted him there.

They posted a video on their social media pages about how Jay never got his rematch from last year's Best In The World match to try and justify it.TeeBeeKay wrote:So they run an angle at the PPV that sets up both Cabana and Cole as logical challengers, and Kyle beats Lethal in Dearborn and can also lay claim to the #1 contendership and who gets the shot? It really makes no sense though as Jay has been working in the tag team division lately, and the Briscoes were on the losing end of the Tag Title match against War Machine at the PPV.
I'm not too crazy about the 2 Adams joining the Bullet Club, but in all honesty, the group has been watered down for some point now. The issue though will be that by featuring more ROH regulars, the group won't feel like it's much of an attraction as it was before.

Latest from Meltzer ,ROH were hoping to get Dragon Lee for the 7/16 show in Philadelphia, but he still out with a knee injury, so it likely will be another CMLL talent that will debut on that show.
Shibata has gotten his working visa and he’ll debut on the 8/19 Death Before Dishonor PPV.

Re: ROH Thread
Anybody realize that ROH's next PPV is on Friday? The line-up looks incredibly weak, especially after the last two were propped up with the New Japan talent.
Thankfully, Death Before Dishonor should be stronger with the debut of Shibata, as well as additional New Japan wrestlers.
Also, ROH's weekly TV show will begin airing weekly (and archived on-demand) on the FITE TV app beginning this upcoming Monday. I'm especially glad for that because it works perfectly with my Xbox One, and should make watching ROH a much more convenient experience.

Jay Lethal vs Jay Briscoe isn't lighting anyones world on fire. I don't get the direction at all especially considering they've cooled off Briscoe especially since last year when he was World Champ at this time.

Did Whitmer join the Dungeon of Doom, or did Corino join the Varsity Club?

Re: ROH Thread
I actually think Sullivan getting involved with ROH is pretty cool.
If you listen to his podcast (MSL & Sullivan) on MLW Radio, you'll see that he keeps up with modern wrestling fairly well, and still has great insight as to what worked back during his days as a booker, and how that can be applied to today's product.
ROH should definitely utilize him for far more than just an on-screen performer, because he can definitely help with the talent and overall product in several ways.

Shibata will make his US debut taking on... Silas Young?
Silas is fine but this is not a match that makes me want to buy a ppv, especially a $35 one

It really sucks because they ran a really good show in Philly in march that only relied on one outside talent.

Re: ROH Thread
from pwinsider.. Kevin Kelly is now working full-time for the company. Previously, he had been working a regular job and handling his ROH announcing duties around those duties. ROH had been interested in using him full-time and those conversations had started and continued, off and on, since around the time Sinclair purchased the company.
Kelly will be working as something of a liason between talent and the ROH office, which has never had a "talent relations" department, for lack of a better term. A lot of different duties fell on booker Hunter Johnson, who with everything he was tasked to do, sometimes wasn't the quickest in the communications department as he was being spread between booking, producing TV, dealing with talent, etc. One of the things Kelly has already introduced is specific "office hours" at live events, so talents can come to him with concerns and questions.
For those curious, the creative team remains the same with Johnson heading things while names like Kelly, BJ Whitmer, Christopher Daniels and Steve Corino also toss ideas out the day of shows and agent matches.
Kelly will also be spearheading a number of projects for the company that have been in the talking stages for some time, including an ROH App and a ROH Roku channel. There are plans to retool and relaunch the ROH website as well. This was not a sudden move by the company but something that had been planned for some time.

It's really cool to see ROH bringing in some CMLL talent. Kamaitachi (technically a New Japan talent, but primarily established himself while on excursion in CMLL), Stuka Jr., and now Dragon Lee provide some much needed diversity to the ROH line-ups.

Will Ospreay will be wrestling for ROh on the UK shows.
ROH and CMLL have entered into an official working relationship.
Matt Taven will compete for CMLL on September 9th at Arena Mexico.

Re: ROH Thread
It's kind of insane to think that ROH now has working relationships with the top Japanese and top Mexican wrestling promotions.
Lucha Libre is becoming incredibly popular in the US right now, so it's perfect timing for ROH to strike a deal with CMLL and gain access to their incredible talent roster.
As for Ospreay, he's just the belle of the wrestling ball right now.

Another big signing for ROH
I love Marty, and think he can be a superstar if given the right push, I've been hard on ROH and Delirious this year, but they had a good PPV with a great main event and they seem to be finally actively courting more big time international names, maybe that office shakeup with Kevin Kelly has been a shot in the arm or something

Re: ROH Thread
Yeah, Scurll is a nice signing for them, and just about every match up against anyone on the roster will be fresh if he in full time, which looks like he is since pwtorch say he gave his notice to EVOLVE last month. I would say its a big steal for them, considering he had to been on WWE's radar for the cruiserweight division and you would think TNA's too.

Re: ROH Thread
I think the treatment of Mark Andrews is going to keep most of the Brits away from TNA if they have other offers, he's a super talented guy that gets to do absolutely nothing
Scurll not being in the CWC was the big puzzler to me, because he's one of the guys who can cut a good promo and bring good character work in addition to being a great wrestler
One interesting thing will be to see how everything shakes out at Mania Weekend next year, ROH is only running one show, but Progress is running 2 and Rev Pro is running one and if Scurll and potentially Ospreay are ROH guys at that point I wonder if they're only working one show even though there home promotions are running too
