*Spoilers* on Diva's storyline and future of the division

Accorinding to PWInsider Elite audio, Charlotte & Sasha Banks will be debuting on the main roster at SummerSlam. They will help Paige take out the Bellas. SummerSlam will kick off change in the Diva's division with focus on strong women's wrestling instead of just the 'drama & glamor' we've had for over a decade now.

Bayley is also expected be called up, but her wrist injury is slowing things down a bit.

Good.

Makes sense. But get ready for it in case they just go with Tamina and Naomi.

I get Charlotte and Sasha going up, as they've been ready for the main roster for quite some time and are seemingly treading water in NXT right now.

However, I'm not sure how well Bayley would work on there. Her character will likely lead to her being as successful as Emma has been since being promoted and struggling to just barely make it onto Main Event and Superstars.

Also, with the current storyline, it seems like Paige would only need two reinforcements to join her since the Bellas adopted Alicia Fox as their interracial triplet. However, I could see Naomi & Tamina either being the ones to join Paige (most likely & disappointing scenario) or swerve her so that Bayley and Becky Lynch could also join the other two as Paige's backup.

It really won't matter. It's a tainted brand, and as long as it's presented the same way with the term divas, and the butterfly belt and the Bellas and everything else that's representitive of the current brand it will be treated like an afterthought by the fans.

They need to do a total teardown and kill everyone off and rebrand as a women's division to have a shot, and it's not going to happen.

I fully believe there is a big market for Women's wrestling but it has to be presented in a certain way to work and now is the right time, but I have zero confidence that they'll take the necessary steps to fix it. Soon Sasha and Charlotte will be in four minute matches on Raw with the Bellas and nobody will care.

Even then, WWE would have to be very patient in regards to rebranding the Divas/Women's division. The majority of WWE fans aren't likely to be as excited about serious women's wrestling as the NXT is overnight.

However, we've all seen that patience is something that the key decision makers in WWE lack.

I think a big thing would be picking their spots, you let them have long matches in smarky markets, philly, chicago, etc where they know the deal, and elsewhere you do pretapes and angles and squashes

It would take a while to stabalize it as a viable division everywhere but I think it's worth it to put the time in

– The Wrestling Observer has a report on how WWE Creative is planning to possibly bring in some of the NXT Divas to the main WWE roster. Per the report, a lot of people in creative were said to be arguing about ideas and wanted the debut of the NXT Divas to be perfect.

One such idea was apparently having the new Divas come in and get rid of the older veteran Divas to try and “transplant” the NXT women’s division to the main roster. The WWE would try to keep some of the Divas who currently are on Total Divas. The article is not clear on how creative would get rid of the older Divas and where they would go.

In addition, Stephanie McMahon was reportedly planning on getting involved with the angle. Her presence in the angle was said to have never been debated. However, there were discussions if she should come off as a “face” in the storyline or try to maintain her current heel gimmick with The Authority.

There were other discussions on how many of the NXT Divas would be brought in. There was talk about bringing in up to four or possibly as few as just two. Charlotte is the Diva who was constantly in discussions who would be called up no matter what.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are said to be in strong and intense support of the angle to bring in the NXT Divas.
