    http://www.prowrestling.net/article.php?WWE-News-Samoa-Joe-reportedly-signing-with-WWE-41184

Samoa Joe (a/k/a Nuufolau Joel Seanoa) is expected to sign with WWE and join the NXT roster, according to a report by Sean Radican of PWTorch.com. He is expected to work his last date for Ring of Honor in late April.

Powell's POV: I noted shortly after Joe announced his departure from TNA that sources were telling me that WWE had interest in him. However, we have not independently confirmed that his move to WWE is official. There are some potential dream matches for Joe with current NXT roster members alone, not to mention the prospects of even more with the main roster talent. Joe will turn 36 this month so hopefully his developmental stay is for a matter of months rather than years. In the meantime, it's cool that he's able to work some ROH dates before he takes the next step

Dave on Sunday while reviewing the ROH PPV said that it was strange that his people were telling promoters that he wasn't taking dates after April and said a WWE deal might be in place.

Shocked WWE took him but so, so excited.

Signing him to NXT almost makes me feel like they're going to spin it out to a third(second?) brand instead of just a developmental league.

Granted this is the same company who said they had to retrain Bryan Danielson, so.

WWE spinning NXT into a third brand would actually be a really smart move because it's smaller nature is able to cater to the Indy Wrestling crowd whilst letting the guys they want to develop have a chance to do something to an audience 'Smart' to the business who'll probably cut them a bit of slack while they learn.

I'm not so sure if making NXT it's own full-time touring brand is a good idea. That's because NXT is a niche product that most of the WWE fanbase is unaware of. It's possible that they become too ambitious in their attempt at growing the NXT brand that it ends up hurting it overall.

While the product is great, the purpose of it is to be the training ground for new stars on the main roster. Anytime NXT gains traction with their top talent and most popular stars, they can be plucked away at any moment to be put on the main roster.

Also, while it's great that the talent will be able to work in front of different crowds, besides their regular fanbase at Full Sail and other Florida house show markets, it can become rather taxing on them as well. That's because not only will the NXT talent have to be on a regular touring schedule, but they'll also have to work through their already grueling training regimen at the Performance Center.
