Perhaps this is Angle's new approach to getting WWE's attention.
Last time his TNA contract was up, he was openly and aggressively trying to get signed while he was still under a TNA deal. Ultimately, that didn't work out so well for him. Maybe a more subdued approach could be more beneficial.
I honestly don't blame him for wanting to take a break as he has been with TNA for so long and his body could use the rest. Plus, TNA's future is very much in doubt, to put it mildly, and even if they manage to survive, how they'll be able to operate is uncertain. There's little chance that they would still be able to afford Angle anymore.
