NFL Playoffs

Though the two #1 seeds are obviously the teams to beat and odds on favorites to go to the superbowl, I think this year's playoff lot is fairly unpredictable. There are a lot of good teams in the NFL and the gap between tiers is not as pronounced as before.

So, who you got?

Bengals at Colts
Ravens at Steelers
(Broncos and Patriots with byes)

Cardinals at Panthers
Lions at Cowboys
(Packers and Seahawks with byes)

I think fucking Brady is going to win again.

I sure fucking hope neither of those teams win or I will go to work with noise cancelling headphones.

Just...like....what even is a catch in the nfl? Grabbing it, moving it from one hand to the other, taking two steps and diving for the goal line is somehow not a catch?

And I don't want anyone coming in here being like "calvin johnson rule bro" - i know it exists. But i think we all know its like the worst rule in football.

From one frustrated football fan to another, I feel you.

I guess by the rule of law, it makes some sense, but in this case the rule of law is wrong. Dez had that ball. He caught it by any measure I could imagine on my own. This is the problem when you slow the game down too much. You can't define things in such minute detail. When you try and then test it for hours a week (basically what happens in the NFL) you will eventually prove your definition flawed.

That all said, I was pulling for the Pack because I picked them to win the Superbowl, so WEEEEEEE!

Like I get that if you jump in the air and are falling that it can't hit the ground, but Dez took steps and made a dive towards the endzone.

The dive looks very similar to the one he did against the Giants this year, only he took a few more steps, and similarly his other elbow was down just shy of the goal line. I don't get it, a juke to the side is a football move, but a dive towards the goal is not.


While everyone is comparing it to the Calvin play, all I can think about is that I suffered from the same roller coaster ride of emotion as that miracle td he almost pulled off against the Giants where his pinkie was ruled to have touched the backline as he was falling in bounds while time expired.

I'm gonna hope Seattle pulls it out but you gotta think this is Tom Brady's year.

I'd be happy with either team winning, but I'm pulling for Brady.

I don't really care either way.

I will say though, Green Bay deserved that loss, they shouldn't have even been there #DezCatch

I hope the field opens up and swallows both teams whole.

Packers could not have done more to give that game away. What a crazy game.

Anyway, I am a Dolphins fan so it is hard for me to root for the Patriots, but I am pretty indifferent here. I like the Seahawks and I like most of their players, but something about the repeat isn't that awesome to me. Plus, seahawk fans are becoming more obnoxious. I get that the players like to do the us vs the world thing, but the fans are silly when they try it. No one feels sorry for seahawk fans right now. No one is counting them out.
