Ciampa is a really good example of what's wrong with current ROH IMO

He was a guy who was good, but never spectacular, and that feels like almost the entire regular roster(except reDRagon) just a bunch of guys who can have 3 star matches but never really rise to the level of being special

Not sure is that's the talent or the booking or both, but it describes so much of their roster to me

I get the same feeling in that very few guys stand out, hence why the New Japan talent and special attractions like Alberto El Patron are selling points for me when it comes to their PPVs.

Ciampa's solid but I'm not really sure that he would be an appealing signing for NXT, given that he's never been a major draw for ROH. I could see him popping up in TNA, given that TNA have been recruiting more indy talent as of late.

I think Ciampa's knee injuries would keep him from being signed by WWE.

But yeah the past few years they brought in a lot of guys who were solid, but never spectacular (sans ACH).

However, they have some new crops of guys who could become stars. I think Raymond Rowe has a ton of potential, and the fact that they're on the Andrew Everett train at least shows they're not just looking at guys who pay for their tryout seminars.

Both members of War Machine come off as unique individuals in the ROH environment, even if Hanson gives off a bit of a Sheamus vibe.

I also found some of the guys from this year's Top Prospect Tournament intriguing. Ashley Sixx and Beer City Bruiser stood out very well in their matches, and I like that they're using BCB on house shows recently. I personally find Dalton Castle to be a little too ridiculous, BUT he's been receiving great reactions from a lot of fans and he seems like somebody that could be a mainstay in the promotion.

I see that ROH had the team Reno Scum work a dark match against Jimmy Jacobs & Adam Page at the 13th Anniversary PPV. That's a team ROH should definitely try to bring in regularly because those guys work very well as a team, have a great look (basically in-shape Nasty Boys with a more intense Punk rock vibe), and are even talented as individuals (Adam Thornstowe won the King of the Indies tournament this weekend).

ROH should def be looking at more unique talent. Especially with Joe, Jimmy Jacobs, the Briscoes (?), Ciampa all leaving it seems like they have a chance to bring in some new guys and get some new guys over and such.

I feel like they also dropped the ball with Daniels and Kazarian, like I figured when they signed we'd get a bunch of entertaining TV segments with them, and from what I've seen we've pretty much gotten nothing

Them doing some of the types of things they did in TNA would have helped make them a more important part of the show, also jobbing in every single match probably hasn't helped

The Addiction's ROH run has been such a letdown. While I enjoy watching their matches, I expect them to lose every time they're out there and they also haven't been in any significant angles, as far as I know.

I mean realistically when you weigh everything out they are working maybe 40 dates for more money than moving their families to Orlando and training everyday, not to mention they have a farm to care for and profit off of, and factor in the potential of their actions not exactly being corporate, and mark's medical history, I think they made the right call IMO

As much as people praise NXT for its matches and presentation of its wrestlers, there is no real money to be made for the talent who are there.

Although the likes of Finn Balor and Hideo Itami are likely making more money that the typical developmental talent, they're still likely taking a paycut from whatever they previously made in Japan and any additional indies they worked.

As mentioned about by TBK, Itami and Kevin Owens moved their families to Orlando while they train at the WWE Performance Center regularly. With the limited amount of main roster call-ups lately, who knows how long wrestlers might end up staying in NXT, particularly with Triple H attempting to make it a touring brand itself.

Curious as to how much they make from the farm. Giving that up alone might not be worth taking a WWE deal.

It's not just their family farm, they also apparently operate a landscaping business and have been seriously considering opening up a wrestling school.

Signing with WWE and having to move to Florida for developmental would mean they give up all of that and take a paycut from their current earnings as wrestlers.

But realistically, what would their chances in WWE be like?

They definitely have personas that should theoretically be perfect for WWE, but WWE has never been big on tag teams. Even in NXT, tag teams are not a priority and aren't featured well on that program at all.

I know everybody praises NXT for the workrate of the wrestlers, but honestly, the Briscoes get to have better matches in ROH and more often than they likely would in NXT.

Plus, they may not have been able to handle themselves particularly well in that corporate WWE structure.
