Re: R.I.P. TNA
Thank god, was getting really worried we weren't getting our annual, TNA is on death's doorstep story
Who's the idiot whose going to bail them out this time? Toby Keith? Does Dixie rally from the dead? Will Billy Corgan buy it and rebrand it NWA bringing the legacy full circle? Will Conrad Thompson use his mortgage money to buy it so he can put more of his podcast inside jokes on tv? So many possibilities

The 3,000+ hour library features household industry names such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Sting, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode and many more.
“These digital initiatives and broadcast agreements are a significant step forward for the Global Force Wrestling organization as we continue to expand the brand globally, making it available on more platforms and in more countries,” said Ed Nordholm, president of Global Force Wrestling. “Anthem is committed to broadening Global Force Wrestling’s footprint, as we work alongside international broadcast partners, digital platforms and professional wrestling promotions to bring our passionate fans a high-quality product that not only stands out in today’s media landscape, but continues to thrive into the future.”
Additional details about the launch of the Global Wrestling Network and IMPACT Wrestling Channel on Pluto TV will be revealed in the near future. For more information on Pluto TV, visit www.Pluto.tv.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with Anthem and remain the exclusive linear television home of IMPACT in the U.S.,” said David Mandell, COO of Pop. “IMPACT delivers over 100 hours of original programming per year on Pop with some of the best and most passionate fans in television. With our broad distribution across all major cable and satellite providers, as well as almost every new over-the-top bundle, including DirecTV Now, Sony Vue, Fubo TV, Hulu TV and YouTube TV, IMPACT fans have more options than ever to catch their favorite show every week.”
IMPACT will be available as part of the ran FIGHTING BLACK PASS for €3.99 per month at ranFIGHTING.de across Germany, Austria and Switzerland starting on Sept. 8, which includes a simulcast of IMPACT on ran FIGHTING’s 24/7 web channel, plus VOD access to IMPACT episodes and One Night Only specials. The service also gives customers the opportunity to purchase GFW’s premium annual pay-per-view events, including Bound for Glory and Slammiversary.
“The deal with ProSieben marks the second major European broadcaster to license IMPACT, including Spike UK earlier this year,” Nordholm added. “Coupled with the Pop renewal, our digital launches and significant increase in YouTube views, this reflects the increasing excitement and demand for GFW’s content.”

Nothing says "Everything is great and there's no trouble at all!" like seeing the line "IMPACT showcases top professional wrestling stars such as GFW Champion Eli Drake".

i said this on tIr last week, but i kind of want tna to go under just so we can have the name to ourselves.
As for what actually happens...tna has been so off my radar for so long that it kind of doesn't even matter? like whether they keep going or not the mount of tna i watch will not change.

Re: R.I.P. TNA
Anthem is doing a great job with Dixie's legacy
The Broken drama.
Change the name of the company to something you don't fully own yet... Get new belts made for it.
Realize the guy you gave a lot of power to has personal issues that you can't ignore so good bye GFW & Jeff Jarrett, welcome back Impact Wrestling.
Put Karen Jarrett back in charge of the Knockouts onscreen.. so she could disappear when Jeff goes.
Hire Bruce Prichard back as a onscreen boss, cause more people listen to his product then watch your product, thinking his listeners would all of sudden care to watch.
Bring back Low Ki ,only for him to quit 4 months later.
Hire Alberto, few months later have him unify the GFW and Impact titles only for him to make headlines over domestic issues with his girlfriend a week after with several weeks of shows tape yet to air causing them to have to wait a month to strip him of the title.
Plan so far in advance that they ...
Bring back Jim Cornette as a onscreen boss, only to decide to move things to Canada a month later, a place he can't go to.
Bring back Taryn Terrell, only to decide to move things to Canada a month later, a place she can't go to.

My recommendation? Abandon TNA, go sub to Powerbomb.tv using the code "Absolute" and watch a bunch of indies.

If the rumors are true about Jeff Jarrett being in a WWE sponsored rehab, can we then finally just admit that TNA was the result of a drunken boast by a surly Double J?

Re: R.I.P. TNA
Another one to add to the awesome moves by the people behind Anthem.
They let go the guys from Live Audio Wrestling today from the Fight Network. A show that been going since the late 90's. LAW probably had more listeners than people that still watches Impact (in the US & Canada) weekly. They probably weren't happy that Impact was a afterthought on the shows but it probably cause they had to make budget cuts since they are spending so much on a company that not making any money. Bound for Glory is this Sunday.. They could have had the guys take a small trip to Ottawa or even just have a Impact talent or two call on the LAW after the PPV instead they fire them and will probably do nothing with the 2 hours on the radio sunday.

Re: R.I.P. TNA
With all that’s going on with TNA/Impact Wrestling/GFW I figured this would be a good place to remind people that some how they are still putting on a live PPV tomorrow (hard to believe I know).
Can’t say I’ll be watching, but I’m interested to see how they pull this off.
* World Title Match: Champion Eli Drake vs. Johnny Mundo
* X-Division Title Ultimate X Match: Champion Trevor Lee vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. Matt Sydal vs. Petey Williams vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Garza Jr.
* Six Sides of Steel: Bobby Lashley & King Mo vs. Moose & Stephan Bonner
* 5150 Street Fight: Champions OVE vs. LAX
* Knockouts Title Match: Champion Sienna vs. Allie vs. Gail Kim
* Monster’s Ball Match: Grado vs. Abyss
* First Blood Match: Rosemary vs. Taya
* Team Impact: EC3 & Eddie Edwards & James Storm) vs. Team AAA: El Hijo del Fantasma & Pagano & Texano
* Alberto el Patron returns
Can’t say I’ll be watching, but I’m interested to see how they pull this off.

What more sad.. It probably close to or even more than what their new refs will have in their pockets in the end.RFSKannon wrote:smh... Here we go again...

TNA Hof'er Earl Hebner, his son Brian Hebner, 13 years in the company, Brian Stiffler and Twin brother of the former "WWE Black Ref" Robert King, who had been paying for his own Flights and any other expenses for awhile now, hoping for a contract.. all quit the company after they wanted them all to take a greatly reduced pay cut.. End of Story..right ? nope
In need of refs now.. Impact officials actually approached "WWE Black Ref", Justin King and Jack Doan, both realize it wouldn't be worth it and would actually be losing money after after taxes and expenses.
In other news, volunteer fans help assembled the ring for BFG. They ran out of beer, half way through the PPV, They used portapotties for bathrooms, and the roof was leaking all night.

Re: R.I.P. TNA
Delightful...Something tells me after all the fess and back &forth fighting that Ed & company made after the Hardys left that they must not have the money to fight many court battles at the moment...
from prowrestlingsheet
Matt Hardy‘s “breakdown” on Raw this week seemed to indicate that a version of his “Broken Matt” persona is on the way and Impact Wrestling exec Ed Nordholm has released a statement about it.
Nordholm told Sports Illustrated, “We have seen the character development and will be interested to see where they take the concept.”
Ed continued, “Our new talent agreements all incorporate language that allow talent to continue to use their IMPACT persona after they leave the company. We are working with our legal team to amend our existing agreements to extend this to all of our current and former talent.”
Despite the public trademark battle with Matt this year, it seems like they’ve changed their stance.
SI also claims that the recent tease for a Broken Matt-like character isn’t false hope. The publication reports that WWE is creating a character that will not be labeled as Broken, but similar.
