NFL Playoffs
The Colts-Cheifs game was incredible, what a comeback.

When casual fans watch a defensive game, they assume both teams suck. See Alabama/LSU 2011.

To be fair if you watched any BCS Bowl game this week it seems like defense is dead, even Alabama gave up 40+ points.
Anyway speaking of dead defense, Eagles and Saints are scoreless after 1!

Oh yeah. I'm just saying that to most people, offense is the barometer for how good a team is and a low scoring game is seen as a shitfest while a game where they score a combined 100 points is the greatest of all time.
The game of football has even changed and progressed as such to allow for higher scoring games for that very reason.

Oh I see you. While Colts-Chiefs was very enjoyable its the same argument you can make for any sport. Soccer, baseball and hockey are too low scoring. We want home runs and goals and touchdowns and three point baskets. America loves them some shoot outs.

Unbelievable.
3/4 of the games this weekend were close, barn burners. Fun football weekend, though I agree with the general voice of the thread. I, for one, miss me some solid defense.

Flair gives the Niners a pregame pep talk, and now they go play in his backyard at Carolina. Thanks for the boost, Naitch.

That one announcer for the Patriots game is making me laugh out loud.

Re: NFL Playoffs
I really thought the Saints were going to send it to overtime, that's just how wacky the first week of playoffs made my head. Weird games in the rain today, Pats/Colts got silly in the fourth quarter and ruined a good Luck vs New England running backs game.

Re: NFL Playoffs
The games today definitely were not as special as last week, but amazing how the running game for NE has picked up the last few weeks. (Curse Greg Schiano and Mark Dominik for trading Blount to the Pats for a freaking 6th round pick...sorry frustrated Bucs fan)
Tomorrows game should be interesting, the Panthers defense is so good, but Kaepernick and the 49ers have quite a few weapons. Then you have the Chargers who have already beaten the Broncos once this season and you have Peyton who has never beaten the chargers in the playoffs...Could be a really good game again, or a complete blowout if the Broncos put everything together...
In the end I'm going to go Broncos over Chargers 23-17 and 49ers over Panthers 17-13, now watch me miss both of these games!

Re: NFL Playoffs
I feel like Broncos/Pats in the AFC Title game is just destiny. I also think it will be 9ers/Seahawks. Two great rivalries on Championship Sunday.
Also, I got my ticket for Super Bowl Boulevard in NYC. I am going to kick the best field goal with the wind.

The nice thing about a bandwagon is it's really easy to hop off before it crashes and burns.

Re: NFL Playoffs
I did not feel like the Panthers or Chargers ever had a chance today. So long to all the "nobody believed in us" teams. Hello Brady vs Manning and Seattle/San Fran. Should be great though.

Definitely a time where the best 4 teams made it to the showdown. No cinderella stories this year.

Re: NFL Playoffs
Panthers deserved to be there, but the Chargers certainly overachieved.
Colts really didn't belong either, so I'm happy the Patriots won. This is the worst Patriots team in years, but any team that gets blown out by Kellen Clemens and the Rams does not deserve a playoff spot let alone a bid to the AFC championship game.
