Why didn't you get the cassette player and the photo out of his desk? Also the move scroll?

Because I haven't played this game in like 10 years and did not plan anything in advance. Just wait for the next couple episodes lol

The last time I played this game was 2008. I was afraid it hasn't aged well, but still looks great to me. I still feel like Shenmue II is a bit better though.
Prices for the original Shenmue are also through the damn roof now. I donated my copy to CGR about a year ago, and now they're like 70-100 dollars for a complete copy.

Re: A Thing Featuring Nikk [Shenmue]
Well I am capturing the footage from a vga box...which then goes to a VGA to HDMI upscaler, so this is like as good as shenmue can look. But I agree that it looks better then I would have thought.
And yea, heard about the prices. I basically own 2 copies of both games (US and Japanese version of shenmue 1, EU DC and US Xbox version of Shenmue 2), definitely considering selling one of them. Probably the Japanese version of 1, but I guess i need to check if that is going for as high of a price.

I think the prices for retro games in general have gone up over the last couple of years. I was looking at some of those Sega Saturn games that I own. What I bought for 15-30 dollars is now like 50-60 dollars.

Re: A Thing Featuring Nikk [Shenmue]
Certain things are definitely going up. My local retro store is selling genesis stuff for like the triple the price of when i first started going there. They use some 3rd party Point of sale thing for their prices, so I assume these prices are like this all over the place too.
That said, they are almost literally giving ps2 and xbox games away (they do buy 1 get 1 on ps2 and xbox like twice a month) so I guess it's time to start collecting those.
EDIT: Hell I have a pic of the japanese version of shenmue from when i bought it. It was $10. This was like....2 years ago at most.

I actually kind of hope Shenmue 3 doesn't have waypoints like in modern games.
