Raw is Cancelled?

TONIGHT'S RAW TAPING IS CANCELED

Joseph Lopes, who works across the street from the XL Center in Hartford, sent word that WWE's crew are currently packing up the production trucks and that he was told the taping is canceled.

We are told there will be a WWE Raw broadcast tonight, but of what nature, we are not sure. A decision on Smackdown is forthcoming. WWE will be issuing an official announcement on all of this any minute.

But really if this ends up being true it's probably for the best, Reigns was going to be slaughtered by the crowd tonight, but that anger is hard to hold onto for 8 days and might slip past the full barrage next week

Will it be a Royal Fumble recap for 2 hours.
Or one big commercial for the network tonight?
Maybe just a camera following the guys around the snowed in airport,

Maybe HHH's interview with Austin will be moved to part of the show.

I'm hoping its 3 hours of improvised sports-entertainment written last minute by Vince McMahon, unfiltered starring the staff of Titan Towers and Mizdow who was at the office to fix a payroll problem.

When I heard that the live show was cancelled, I thought to myself, they don't have the balls to just show the Rumble in the slot.

And Beyond Wrestling is making #RAWlternative available for 24 hours on their YouTube Channel.

i mean i want to watch all this indie wrestling, but i really NEED to see what WWE slaps together here.

Apparently we also missed out on ISW and Hoodslam shows.

Though I only watched the Hulu version this morning and skipped the matches I already saw from last night, I was sort of impressed with what they made of the show. Reigns, who has all but lost me completely over the last two months, seemed much more comfortable and actually peaked my attention a bit here. Granted, it might not have been live and it is a lot easier to look good in that situation than in the ring, but the WWE and Reigns should learn from this. He needs to be more natural and more conversational.

I really liked Bryan's interview because he took some unexpected jabs at Reins. While maintaining the "mutual respect" between faces, I thought Dragon (and lets not pretend he did it on his own) did well to not just tow the company line but create little spaces for the future and for doubt in the audience's mind.

I actually liked most of the in-studio interviews. It felt like a unique approach to what they usually do. Plus, I didn't end up watching a full 3-hour show, which was a welcome change of pace. If WWE wasn't so bullish about producing a live show every week, they could probably do an episode like this once every few months as an off-week.

I'm not that excited for the actual Lesnar vs. Reigns match at WrestleMania, but their interviews (especially the one Heyman did with Roman) and face-off did a lot to make the match more appealing.

The Bryan, Rollins, Reigns & Lesnar sit downs were pretty good. The face to face main event was great. Weirdly the fake blizzard was great for them.
