2014 College Football
I figured I would start a thread for the season. I haven't had the chance to watch many games, but I watched most of WVU vs Alabama. If Alabama plays like that this season they will lose 3-5 games. WVU was determined to lose the game with little mistakes.

LSU/Alabama are definitely down this year. Texas A&M seems legit. Kentucky scares me

Everett Golson, watch out ya'll. Also the ND defense just has not been the same since the National Championship game and the fake girlfriend story. Wouldn't be shocked if the game next week with Michigan is crazy high scoring.

Re: 2014 College Football
Dan, you are a fucking tard for turning a 2+ TD blowout against a top ten team on the road to a 5 point game in the span of one quarter.
Keep your starters in the game please.

Does Ole Miss make its way back into the playoff? Probably not.

They'll have to win out. If the get beat by Arkansas, State, or Auburn (pick one), they're out of the playoff picture. Even if the make it to the SEC championship, they have to play Georgia which doesn't play to Ole MIss' strengths.

Re: 2014 College Football
I know the chances of this are somewhere between slim and none, but I am happy anytime a top team loses another one because that means the case of Marshall University getting a playoff spot is a little stronger. Marshall has a really soft schedule - obviously - but they are WRECKING most of their opponents and have a real chance to be impressively unbeaten by the end of the season. If the top is filled with a bunch of 1 loss teams, they have no chance, but if there are a bunch of 2 loss teams vying for that last spot, I can imagine Marshall having a good chance if they keep blowing people out and Cato keeps building on his record.

Re: 2014 College Football
Marshall would not get a playoff spot over any one loss team from a power five conference.

Marshall didn't even move up the polls this week, I'd be shocked if they even get close.

I misread. I would still be surprised if they got in over a 2 loss team. Even a two loss team from the B1G has more credibility than an undefeated team from CUSA.
For every Boise State, you'll have a lot more Rice or Hawaii that get smashed in bowl games.

Re: 2014 College Football
Ohhh I know. It is just fun to think about for me. I went there and I love that little town. The mere fact that they are ranked is a pleasant surprise and the fact that they are taking their chances somewhat seriously is nice to hear.
The fact of the matter is, there is just too much money on the line that will influence the votes. Unless Cato and/or the team become media darlings/great underdog stories, it just isn't there.

Re: 2014 College Football
Mullen is not a big game coach and Prescott is not a Heisman contender. I predict State goes 10-2, misses the playoffs and loses in the Cotton Bowl.

Re: 2014 College Football
Marshall University - THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION - remains unbeaten.
It seams I have underestimated the tournament selection committee. Marshall will be lucky to be in the top 20 on their list by year's end. The big teams could have 5 loses and it wouldn't matter.

Marshall University, the PEOPLE'S CHAMPIONS, won their bowl game against some highschool team by a mile, proving that they are, indeed, the very best team in college football.

Man would have enjoyed them in the Fiesta Bowl instead of Boise. God damn that 2 pt conversion.
