Bound For Glory 2014
TNA announces that Bound For Glory 2014 will take place in Tokyo. It'll be October 12 at Korakuen Hall. Talk amongst yourselves.

Re: Bound For Glory 2014
I like the idea of doing a joint show with Wrestle-1 at Korakuen Hall. Not sure that's what i'd do for BFG though.

I am reading that Meltzer said Japanese Sponsors (rich fans/businessmen) are footing the billing. Also Korakuen Hall only holds 2,000 people at best.

I hope this airs at 4am just like the NJPW shows. That's the time slot TNA belongs in.

With the announcement of Bound for Glory on 10/12 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, it should be noted that New Japan has an iPPV scheduled for the same date in the same building. most likely the Wrestle-1/TNA show will be in the afternoon and the New Japan show will be at night.

Strategically, this is brilliant. When no one reacts to anything Mike Tenay can just remind the viewer that the Japanese fans are more respectful and are paying careful attention to the artistry being displayed in the right.
There is - of course - the problem of getting some of the wrestlers work visas. I am not 100% clear on the Japanese policy regarding crazies, but I imagine the documentation and customs process for Crazzy Steve will be a real nightmare.

But really, I'm not sure Jeff Hardy can make the trip....

Gentlemen... she would surely use the full name on his passport, Willow the Wisp. The people who work for customs and border security (in any country) are serious people. Mr. The Wisp would surely have to submit to having his bags checked, but I assume there would ultimately be no problems.

Wait... Japan has had American wrestlers without masks? Have they ever won any major titles.... like, for example, tag team titles?

so...there is no world title match?
Feel like that would be an important thing to book for the "biggest show of the year"

I think they're still trying to finish the BFG Series from last year.

Who needs that when you've got Muta/Tajiri vs Storm/Sanada! (and this is coming from a James Storm fan)

Re: Bound For Glory 2014
BFG this year is an absolute mess and it's clear that TNA had no plan in place whatsoever once it was booked for Japan.
Granted, the majority of TV has been very good these last few months and has largely consisted of marquee main event matches, starting with the Summer shows in New York. However, treating this show as an afterthought obligation sums up why TNA has never been able to make money off of their PPVs.

The Sendada/Muta/Storm is the only actual angle for this show, otherwise it's just a special event rather than anything to push any new storylines.
